Did you miss your Initial Enrollment Period for Medicare?

Medicare General Enrollment Period

Did you know that there is an alternative time to enroll, if you missed your Initial Enrollment Period last year? If you’re eligible for Medicare, you may still be able to sign up for Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance) and Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) during the General Enrollment Period, but only if you act quickly.

The good news is, every year there is something called a General Enrollment Period, which runs from January 1st – March 31st, and gives individuals coverages starting on July 1st. Individuals can enroll during the General Enrollment Period for Medicare Part A & Medicare Part B if:

  1. You didn’t sign up when you were first eligible.
  2. You aren’t eligible for a Special Enrollment Period.

You may be subject to a late penalty fee, so it’s important that you speak with a licensed insurance agent to discuss your options. Call our office 516-900-7877 to set up a time now.
