A friendly reminder that tomorrow, December 7th, 2017, is the final day of Open Enrollment. This means that you have one full day to review your existing Medicare and Prescription Drug plans with a local agent and make sure you are getting the best coverage at the most affordable price.

Open Enrollment Period, sometimes called AEP, is the time period in which eligible individuals are able to make updates to their coverage for the following year. (There are special enrollment periods for individuals with extenuating circumstances, such as people who are still working and covered by their employers, who then retire).

During Open Enrollment, you can also switch from original Medicare, known as Part A hospital insurance and Part B medical coverage, to a private Medicare Advantage plan. Or you can elect to pick up a Medicare Supplement Plan and a Prescription Drug Plan to compliment your Original Medicare, and pick up the remaining 20% that Original Medicare does not cover.
